When Bicycling gathered the boldest, most future-facing cycling technology from the floor of CES, our Ultiracer earned a place among the picks — described by the editors as a preview of where virtual cycling could be going (Bicycling). For our team, that recognition was a tremendous encouragement.
The magazine framed a challenge every indoor rider knows well: on a conventional trainer, your bike is locked in place. Manufacturers have tried to ease that static feel by adding a little side-to-side rock or some forward-and-back motion, but without true forward momentum the ride still doesn't feel like the real thing. Traditional rollers allow more natural movement, yet they demand real skill and balance to use safely.
Ultiracer brings both halves together: a reimagined roller platform paired with a virtual cycling environment. A vertical support holds the bike by its top and down tubes, so riders can steer left and right and lean through turns — natural motion that flat rollers simply can't deliver safely. As Bicycling observed, that's exactly what makes Ultiracer so approachable: anyone who can pedal can climb on and ride with confidence, just as we demonstrated at the show.
The editors playfully likened our platform to an arcade classic rather than a photo-real course recreation — and honestly, we think that spirit of play is a feature, not a footnote. Gamified, intuitive, and welcoming to riders of every level, Ultiracer turns training into something people genuinely look forward to. And this is only the beginning for RealDesignTech: we'll keep refining the hardware, expanding the software, and pushing toward a future where riding indoors feels every bit as alive as riding outside.
